Xavier is the lab manager at IndieBio NY, where he supports startups with tackling their early technical and scientific challenges. Prior to working with IndieBio, Xavier was an Instrument Specialist at a BSL-2 LC/MS lab, where he repaired and validated instrumentation and software.
Xavier received his B.S. in Biology/Neuroscience with a concentration in Biotechnology from University of Rochester, and his Masters of Professional Studies degree in Plant Biotechnology from Cornell University, where he focused on plant breeding and quantitative genetics.
Having worked in a wide variety of lab settings, he enjoys adding new tools to his metaphorical toolbox, and is interested in how the cross-pollination of different fields of biology can lead to clever solutions to the problems of today.
The beginning of knowledge is the discovery of something we do not understand.
