Jonathan Axelrad is a partner with DLA Piper LP (US), located in the firm’s San Francisco office. DLA Piper is one of the largest law firms in the world and has a strong biotech practice.
Jonathan’s practice is focused on the representation of private companies from formation to exit. He’s counsel to several IndieBio launched companies and loves representing entrepreneurs innovating in the biotech industry, be it medical, industrial, or agricultural/food verticals. Jonathan is also Chair of DLA’s Energy and Resource Innovation Sub-Group and a member of its Emerging Growth Venture Global Leadership Group.
Jonathan has served as counsel on a pro bono basis to Cyclotron Road, the Harvard Business School Green Business Alumni Association, Stanford’s Energy Crossroads and the American Jewish Committee.
Jonathan was born and raised in Canada (eh), where his father was an immuno-pathologist at Queen’s School of Medicine and his mother taught law. He has made San Francisco his home for many years with his partner Emily.
