As a general pediatrician, Janice Kim works with families to optimize the health of their children. When clinical medicine reaches its limits, she uses a public health approach to address the needs of the communities in which these families live. Her background in public health has focused on maternal and child health, asset mapping, health care delivery, engaging stakeholders, and enhancing community collaborations to make lasting change.
She is committed to working across traditional silos to improve the health of individuals and communities with particular interests in the areas of obesity/healthy lifestyles, toxic stress, positive parenting, early childhood, and the patient experience within the health care system. Janice has worked on both coasts of the US and internationally, notably in Mexico, Kenya, Palau, and the Philippines.
In this culture of change, she is inspired to know that people can create practical approaches to address the world’s problems.
