ROLE We are seeking an individual with a deep understanding of cell biology and experience in tissue cultures and mammalian cell maintenance. You should have a PhD or Masters in Life Sciences, or equivalent years of experience in related fields. We expect you to have experience working with primary cells, myoblasts, or iPSC/ESCs, while experience in growth media optimisation and/or programming (e.g. R, Matlab, Python) is advantageous but not required. Your main responsibilities will revolve around cell culture maintenance as well as building new systems and protocols for assessing cell growth characteristics for the optimisation of serum-free media formulations across multiple cells lines. You will also be developing systems to automate growth media development and to improve the throughput of screening assays. Essential lab maintenance and fundamental molecular biological work will be required to allow smooth day-to-day operations. Rigorous documentation of experimental procedures and data will be essential. Our aim is to help the planet by unlocking the cultivated industry, so you must be motivated to do exactly this. Our culture is casual but the work is serious.
WHAT WE OFFER We offer a competitive salary, the opportunity to join a very exciting start-up, and the freedom to fulfil your potential and play a key role in the new industry of cultivated meat.
